Below is a list of PhD, postdoc, tenure-track and visiting positions that open regularly in Barcelona. Some of these are specific to UPC, but most can be used to apply to any Spanish university; see a list of universities with OA & QIT.
Please note that some links are available only in Catalan or Spanish. However, international students are generally welcome to apply, unless there is a specific language requirement.

La Caixa PhD fellowships
Funded by La Caixa Foundation. There are two variants: Incoming (for candidates coming from outside of Spain/Portugal) and retaining (for candidates that have stayed in Spain/Portugal for more than a year).

Joan Oró FI
PhD grant funded by the Generalitat de Catalunya to join a research group in Catalonia.

Spanish FPI
PhD grant funded by the Spanish Ministry of Sciences, Innovation and Universities. The funding is tied to a research grant that must have previously been awarded to a group.

Spanish FPU
PhD grant funded by the Spanish Ministry of Sciences, Innovation and Universities. The PhD candidate applies jointly with a prospective supervisor. These grants have some teaching involved, and a certain level of Spanish might be required (depends on the university).

Same as the Spanish FPI grant, but internal to UPC.

Same as the Spanish FPU grant, but internal to UPC. A C1 level of Catalan is required.

Beatriu de Pinós
3 year postdoc position to join any Catalan university. Candidates cannot have stayed in Spain for more than 12 months in the last 3 years. Candidates must also have at least 2 years of postdoc experience outside of Spain. There is also a specific call for US researchers called "Beatriu de Pinós Talent Bridge".

Juan de la Cierva
2 year postdoc position to join any Spanish university. Candidates cannot have done their PhD at the host university.

Beatriz Galindo junior
4 year postdoc to join any Spanish university. Candidates must have less than 7 years of experience after their PhD, and they need to be working outside of Spain at the time of applying.

Ramón y Cajal
Although technically a 5 year postdoc, most universities treat these grants as tenure-track positions. Comes with a 50.000€ package for research related activities.

Serra Hunter Senior
Permanent position at a Catalan university. Interested researchers need to contact their preferred university directly, which then asks the Catalan government to open a position.
Beatriz Galindo senior
4 year postdoc position, which becomes a Full Professorship at the end of the 4th year. For researchers with more than 7 years of experience after their PhD. Candidates need to be working outside of Spain at the time of applying.

Programa ATRAE
4 year postdoc position, which becomes a Full Professorship at the end of the 4th year. The position comes with a 1.000.000 eur. start-up package.

ICREA Research Professor
Arguably the most prestigious positions within the Catalan system, ICREA professors have a small (or no) teaching load and their salary is comparable with that of a Full Professor. These also come with a start-up package.
The professorhips are not tied to any university, and candidates need to contact at least one Catalan institution to get an expression of interest which they submit with their application. There is a yearly call, but the areas change every time.

CRM - Lluís Santaló visiting position
Only for researchers affiliated to Latin American institutions. 3 month visiting position at Centre de Recerca Matemàtica (Barcelona). The local host must have a position in a Catalan university or research institution.
